Filo pastry-wrapped shrimps

  • 24 king shrimps
  • 12 filo pastry sheets
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • olive oil

Directions:

Clean the fresh king shrimps by removing shells and tails. In case of frozen shrimps, dip them in hot water and cook for 2-3 minutes, then drain. Season the shrimps with salt and pepper. Prepare 24 basil leaves. Cut out rectangles or semi-circles of filo pastry sheets. Wrap one shrimp and a basil leaf in a piece of pastry and pin the serving with a toothpick. Heat some olive oil in a pan and fry the wrapped shrimps for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot or cold with pesto or yogurt, lemon and herb dressing.
